BEEF FOR FRANCE
Mission’s Visit “Paying Off”
YN.Z. Press Association > AUCKLAND, July 1. The visit of a French meat mission to New Zealand in April is already beginning to pay off in terms of increased trade.
A number of small shipments of hind-quarter - beef have been; made, to France from Auckland and 'Wellington as a direct result of negotiations made during the mission’s visit.
A consignment of beef from the Westfield freezing works was being loaded into the Auckland Star today for shipment to Dunkirk. The ship will sail from Wellington on Saturday. This is the second beef shipment to Dunkirk from Westfield since the mission visited the works. It consists of 2500 quarters described as “pistol” hinds, which are especially suitable for the European trade. The hinds have the flank or flap cut off.
