Coast Concrete

Sir, —I read with surprise that a director of Coast Concrete has resigned, allegedly because of pressure by another firm. The future of the Coast is- occupying Government, and any attempt to frustrate new ventures on the Coast must be regarded as doing harm to the economy of the country as a whole. In view of the importance of this, may I ask if the alleged influence was exerted by any company which has a monopoly in concrete or concrete products? If this is so, then the Coast should demand a public inquiry.—Yours, etc., STOP MONOPOLY. June 30, 1964.
