CONFERENCE IN LONDON
Wilson Not Invited (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, June 25. The Prime Minister is unlikely to adopt the suggestion made by Earl Attlee in a letter to “The Times” today that Mr Harold Wilson, .Leader of the Opposition, should be invited to take part in the Commonwealth Prime Ministers’ conference, which begins in London on July 8. Lord Attlee quotes as a parallel the fact that he went with Sir Winston Chruchill to the Potsdam Conference in 1945.
That will not be regarded by Sir Alec Douglas-Home as a precedent for the. present situation. Lord Attlee had been Deputy Prime Minister in a coalition government under Sir Winston Churchill.
A.A. Patrols.—During May officers of the Automobile Association (Canterbury) travelled 11,646 miles and assisted 80 cars, a meeting of the association's council was told. The vehicle inspection service dealt with 193 vehicles.
