No Shortage Of Cement
Cement shortages in some parts of New Zealand would not upset plans by Coast Concrete to establish a concrete manufacturing industry at Greymouth, Mr A. H; McMaster, a director and manager of the organisation said. Subscriptions to the public issue of 390,000 shares in Coast Concrete opened on June 1. Authorised capital of the company is £lOO,OOO. Cement for the Greymouth plant would come from Westport, 65 miles away, where thfere ' was a surplus of cement, Mr McMaster said. There had been many Inquiries from the North Island about Coast Concrete’s prospects since the start of the cement shortage in Auckland.
However, he had visited, the West Coast last week-end and confirmed that there would be adequate supplies of cement to meet the needs of his company’s plant at Greymouth, Mr McMaster allded.
