Drivers’ Licences

. Sir, —The renewal of a driver’s licence has now been granted for one year, and after a delay of one month, which included three visits to the suburban office of the council and one visit to a nearby medical practitioner. Thus assured at this late date, one has yet to visit the local post office to renew the licence number plates before the end of June. As this lengthy and involved procedure is a matter affecting public interest, particularly the elderly driver, because the medical certificate is only valid for 14 days, one must respectfully decline the invitation to visit. the traffic superintendent in the city, and hope that he will arrange a better service for early applicants at the suburban offices of. the city council.— Yours, etc., RIP VAN WINKLE. June 25, 1964.
