‘Quick, Decent’ Post-Mortems

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 17. Post-mortem examinations must be done without unnecessary mutilation and in an “orderly, quiet and decent manner,” under a retitled Human Tissue Bill, introduced in Parliament today. Originally the Medical Bill, introduced and allowed to lapse last year, it draws on British law to consolidate and revise passages of the Medical Act, 1908, covering postmortems, the practice of anatomy, and removal of human tissues for therapy, education or research.
