Rabbit Boards

Sir, —One thing is certain: the rabbit boards are not going to get “the last one.” Far from it. Quite a number of rabbit boards have been operating 20 years or more and have reduced the pest considerably but are now not making much progress. There are certain factors to account for this. Mainly it is quite easy to kill large numbers when they are in hundreds and thousands and the country eaten out When only a few. are scattered over large areas of country it is a different matter. Also, competent rabbiters are becoming scarce. Rabbit destruction work is a trade that cannot be picked up in a short time. A good man should be able to undertake any class of rabbit destruction. How often one sees boards advertising for men: “Experience not essential.” It is easy to sit back and say what ought to be done but bunny is one jump ahead all the time.— Yours, etc., BUNNY.
