FUNCTION AT TAKAHE
Lunch And Car Demonstration
About 50 prominent city businessmen attended a luncheon and car demonstration at the Sign of the Takahe on the Cashmere Hills on Thursday. The demonstration was of the latest Holden cars and was arranged by the local agents, Blackwell Motors, Ltd.
Anipng those present was the new Australian Trade Commissioner (Mr M. G. B. Coultas), the managers of city banks, accountants, sharebrokers, stock and station agents, representatives of the Automobile Association and newpsaper motoring correspondents. Guests were welcomed by Mr H. B. Duckworth, the chairman of directors of Blackwell Motors, Ltd., and Mr F. W. Blackwell, the assistant manager. The managing director (Mr G. W. Fairweather) was unable to be present and sent his apologies. Both before and after lunch several Holden cars made demonstration runs to Victoria Park and back, including one of the most powerful models which tow’ed a large caravan.
