GRAVES FOR CHILDREN

Special Area In Cemetery

A special area in the Waimairi cemetery is to be set aside for children’s graves, the Waimairi County Council decided on Thursday evening.

The county engineer (Mr I. Calvert) said that under the present system, a full plot was used when a child was ! buried. Under the new scheme, the children’s graves would be only one-quarter of a plot and .the area suggested would accommodate 156 graves. The location in the cemetery was near the south-west entrance in Grahams road, be said. | The charge for graves in the children’s area will be reduced from £l2 to £6.
