BOMBING SLATED

Khrushchev In Cairo <N Z.P.A -Reuter—Copyright> CAIRO. May 11. Mr Khrushchev, accompanied by President Nasser, is attending a special session of the United Arab Republic National Assembly in Cairo today. He told a mass youth rally in Cairo yesterday that “one cannot keep silent when imperialists send their aircraft to bomb barbarously towns and villages in the independent Yemeni Republic." Mr Khrushchev, who arrived in Alexandria on Saturday' for a 16-day visit to the United Arab Republic—his first to Africa—was addressing a cheering crowd of 100,000 in Cairo Stadium.

His speech was made as Mr Duncan Sandys, the British Colonial Secretary, was flying to Aden for a review of fighting between a British-Arab force and dissident tribesmen on the borders of the South Arabian Federation and the Yemeni Republic.

The Yemenis claim sovereignty over large areas of the British-protected federation.

Mr Khrushchev did not mention Britain by name or give details of the bombing attacks he referred to.
