ISRAEL’S 16 YEARS
Exhibition In City An exhibition depicting aspects of Jewish life in Israel, and of the country itself, was shown at the Arthur Rose Memorial Hall, Gloucester street, yesterday. The exhibition was held by the Canterbury Zionist Society to commemomrate the sixteenth anniversary of the granting of indepedence to Israel. Israeli stamps, glassware, jewellery, and coins were exhibited. Travel posters of Israel lined the walls, and Israeli magazines were available for visitors to look at One exhibit was made up of handcraft embroidered clothes, and bags. Children’s greeting cards were shown in another section. Films were shown in the evening.
