201 SPERM WHALES
(N Z. Press Association) BLENHEIM, April 19. The Tory Channel Whaling Co. has ended its first season of sperm whaling. On Friday it caught its 201st sperm whale and when this carcass had been converted into oil yesterday production ended for the season. Mr G. H. Perano, a principal of the firm, said yesterday that he was not “over enthusiastic” about the results of the first season, as they had expected to do better.
