CANTERBURY W.D.F.F.

The Women’s Division of Federated Farmers in Canterbury gained 84 new members last year and now has 1111 members, 2 juniors, and 35 life members in their 35 branches. This was reported by the president of the Canterbury provincial executive (Mrs I. Fraser) at the executives annual meeting yesterday morning.

A life membership of the Canterbury provincial executive was given to Mrs R. A. Ambridge, for her 14 years service as housekeeper secretary. She has been a member of the W.D.F.F. for 28 years and has served four terms as a branch president. Officers elected were: President, Mrs I. Fraser (Lincoln); vice-presidents, Mesdames W. T. R. Rowe (Hororata), R. Chapman (Belfast), and L. Munro (United Bays); secretary, Mrs M. E. Orchard (Harewood), treasurer, Mrs R. Rule (Styx); housekeeping secretary, Mrs R. A. Ambridge (Riccarton); committee, Mesdames G. R. Lyall (Oruhuia), W. Willetts (Rolleston), Miss C. Phillips (Glenroy); advisory members, Mesdames G. Beer (Spreydon), J. Blamires (Darfleld); building committee, Mesdames I. Fraser and M. E. Orchard; delegates to Dominion conference, Mesdames I. Fraser, G. R. Lyall and L. Munro; delegates to National Council of Women Mesdames R. Chapman and M. E. Orchard.
