ATTACK ON WOMAN
Schoolboy Arrested
An 81-year-old woman pensioner was knocked to the ground and assaulted outside her cottage in Addington about 6 p.m. on Monday. The woman suffered shock and bruises. She had noticed a well-built boy wandering about her garden. She went outside and asked him if he was looking for anyone. She was then attacked. She screamed, beat at her assailant with her hands, and managed to frighten him off. He ran to a bicycle and rode off.
The police were informed and Detective-Sergeant A. E. Yaxley made inquiries. A 13-year-old secondary schoolboy has been arrested on a warrant. He has been placed in the custody of the Child Welfare Department and will appear in the Children’s Court.
