BOAT IN FLAMES

(N.Z. Press Association) . AUCKLAND, March 27. . A pleasure cruise on Lake Karapiro almost ended in disaster for a Hamilton man and his family when their 18ft cabin cruiser burst into flames this afternoon. The boat, driven by Mr E. R. Brighouse, of Storey avenue, Hamilton, had circled the lake and was not far from the western shore when the fire broke out. . Mr Brighouse’s wife and three children were passengers. Persons on the shore assisted the family ashore and helped to extinguish the flames. Mr Brighouse suffered burns to his legs, but the rest of the family escaped Without injury. ■
