TAUPO AREA AS PARK
Councils Want Protection
(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Mar. 27. A plan to class Lake Taupo as a national park is being considered by the Taupo and Taumarunui County Councils The plan originated with the Taupo council and the Taumarunui council has approved it subject to the creation of reserves on the lake shore.
The plan aims at the preservation of Lake Taupo amenities and attractions at a time of considerable urban development on its shores.
