MAORI UNIT

Revival Sought (N.Z. Press Association) GISBORNE, March 27. A plea for reforming of the Maori Battalion as part of the New Zealand forces was made by Mr Arnold Reedy at the Maori Battalion reunion at Gisborne today. Referring to a remit advocating the revival of the battalion to come before the conference on Saturday, he said he thought it was interpreting the feeling of the Maori feeling.

Experier e had shown that with leadership the battalion could do its job as a group and get the best out of Maori youth.

rigadier T. Dittmer, the first commander of the Maori Battalion, said he felt sure the conference would reach the correct decision.
