LOST LANDS IN EAST

German Claim Not Dropped (N.Z.P.A. -Reuter—Copyright) BONN, Mar. 22. West Germany would not cease trying for a peaceful understanding with the East European countries, but she will also not abandon her “legitimate claim” to the lost eastern territories, Chancellor Erhard said today. Addressing a meeting of people expelled from the territories east of the OderNeisse line (the present boundary between East Germany and Poland) after the war, the Chancellor said the expulsion had not created a new legal status of these territories. West Germany would try to find a way which, without violating law, would lead to a peaceful living together of the peoples.
