Board Members Thanked
The retiring chairman of the Christchurch Girl’s High School board of governors, Mr A. N. Mackay, and three members who are retiring, Mesdames E. Saunders and M. L. Beauchamp, and Miss O. Eslick, were thanked for their services at the final meeting of the board. Mr Mackay has been a parents’ representative for the last six years. Mrs Beauchamp and Miss Eslick began together on the board nine years ago.
New Tamahine.—The former Union Steam Ship Company’s Tamahine which ran in the Wellington-Picton service for many years and was later sold to an eastern firm is now known as the Kowloon Star and was last month visiting Djakarta. She is now painted a light grey although the funnels still retain their red and black colour.—(P.A.)
