“Cold” Englishmen

Sir,—l would like to bring to “Boadicea’s” notice that Madame Biardeau - Beraud criticised the English, and not the British, as stated in her letter of Tuesday. I am sure Madame Biardeau-Beraud did not wish the criticism to be taken by all the inhabitants of the British Isles. As for “Kiwi’s” letter of Saturday in which he inferred that it was a slight to New Zealanders, I would bring to his notice the fact that not all New Zealanders are of English origin, and in many cases do not wish to be identified as having anything to do with that country.—Yours, etc., W. C. DAVIDSON. March 24, 1964. [This correspondence is now closed. Ed., “The Press.”]
