John McGlashan Beats St. Andrews 2nd XI
John McGlashan High School /Dunedin) defeated the St. Andrew’s College second XI by 152 runs on the first innings of a one day match played in Christchurc.h yesterday. John McGlashan High School declared at 243 for nine wickets and then bundled St. Andrew’s out for 91. In the follow-on St. Andrew’s improved to be 89 for two wickets at stumps. The credit for the victory must go to the Dunedin allrounder and captain, N. Smith He displayed some beautiful batting to score 110. Smith started to wreck the St. Andrew's innings with his lively medium-paced deliveries and the spinners. G. Service and P. Borrie, finished the work. Only Dowling scored more than 20.
