WOOL SALES BY SAMPLE
Opposition To Scheme (Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, March 11. A proposal by London Wool Brokers, Ltd., to offer at next week’s London sales certain quantities of New Zealand greasy wools which buyers Will be able to value only by inspection of representative samples has aroused strong opposition from the British Wool Federation, says the “Yorkshire Post” wool correspondent. The executive committee of the federation, he says, considers that this suggested experiment cuts across the traditional right of buyers to value wool by inspection of the bulk before bidding for it at auction. If the experiment goes forward, the executive therefore recommends its members not to bid for the lots in question.
