REID WILL BOWL

Thigh Injury Recovered (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 11. The New Zealand cricket captain, J. R. Reid, said tonight that he would be able to bowl in the third test, beginning on Friday, “if I am wanted." Reid, who injured a right thigh muscle in the second test, said that the injury had responded well to treatment over the last week. The New Zealand twelfth man for the test, said Reid, would not be named until the morning of the match. Instead of having its first practice together this afternoon, the members of the New Zealand team were forced, because of interruptions to airline schedules, to arrive in dribs and drabsi The practice session planned was cancelled and the New Zealanders will have their first training tomorrow morning at Eden Park. The South Africans are due to arrive tomorrow afternoon, but it is not yet known whether they will practice before the test
