Incidents After Drinking
(N.Z. Press Association) NAPIER, February 28. An 18-year-old girl who had drunk half a flask of whisky, struck two police constables, chased her boy friend and screamed obscenities ait the police, was remanded in custody for sentence on Monday when she appeared before Mr W. A. Harlow, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court ait Napier today. The girl, Margaret Carswell, was charged with using obscene language in a public place, behaving in a disorderly manner in a public place, dangerous driving, and driving while not being the holder of a driver’s licence. She admitted ail the charges. The Magistrate: A weekend in Arohaita will do her good. She needs a cooling-off period and time to. think. I am not ait all sure that you won’t have to go to Borstal.
