Indoor Soccer KNOCK-OUT TOURNEY
City, Shamrock Drawn Christchurch City-, one-point leader in' the indoor soccer major league with two rounds to be played, has been drawn against one of its strongest challengers. Shamrock, in the first round of the knock-out competition.
The eight teams in the.major league will play their first round matches on March 9: the semifinals and final will be on March 16. The draw is: Rangers v. Riccarton: Shamrock v. Christchurch City:' New Brighton v. Nomads: Technical Old Boys v. High School Old Boys. The draw for. the other two competitions is:— Minor League (on March 11): Wigram v. Wanderers: Police v. University: Watersiders v. Shirley 8.H.5.0.8.; Overseas Carpets y. Hornby. Under 20 (on March 24): Shirley B.HJS. V. New Brighton; Celtic v. Christchurch City; Nomads’v. Technical Old. Boys; Hornby V.' Shirley 8.H.5.0.8.: Shamrock v. winner of Shirley B.H.S. and New Brighton; Rangers v. winner of Celtic v. Christchurch City. On March 16, when the semifinals and final of the major league knock-out are played, there will be a fourth match, a relegation-promotion fixture between the bottom club in the major league and the winner of the minor league.
To Be Coach. — The Formosan decathlon star, Chuang Kwang- Yang, said when he arrived in Sydney from New Zealand yesterday that he would retire after the Tokyo Olympic Games. He intends to become a professional athletics coach in America.— (P.A.)
