Loyal Hanover Has Best Time
The lour place-getters in two heats qualified to start at totalIsator meetings by recording 3:29 or better for 12 furlongs at Ashburton yesterday.
Fastest time of 3:22 1-5 was recorded by Loyal Hanover, which made most of the pace in the first heat. He was inclined to drift out in the straight, but held on to win handily’ from Fallanore.
Raced by Mr N. P. O’Leary and trained at Yaldhurst by H. Stafford, Loyal Hanover is a five-year-old gelding by Garrison Hanover from Loj’al Mary-. Bel Shaih, a member of J. W. Smolensk! ’s Templeton team, gained a runaway win tn the other heat and recorded 3:24.
