MEAT TALKS IN BRITAIN

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 18. A senior Argentine official said today England’s- electoral climate was to blame for the lack of agreement on a British meat imports programme at the recent seven-nation London talks. Another cause for the failure was the uncertain state of negotiations between the British Government and U.K. cattlemen on production limits and subsidies, said the official, Mr A. Castronovo. Mr Castronovo headed Argentina’s delegation to the talks.

Representatives from Australia Ireland, New. Zealand, Uruguay and Jugoslavia also participated.
