•‘lf we cut down these pensioners’ units, they won’t be worth building.” Cr. G. E Boyd told the Lyttelton Borough Council last evening ine council had received a letter from the Health Department suggesting that the four flats for single pensioners planned by the council should be reduced to what the department considered an economic size. The council decided to refer the matter to its health and sanitation committee with power to act.
