Addington Library Officers Elected
Representatives from Sydenham, St. Martins, S> Albans, and Burwood Libraries, and Mr A. S. Hollander, and tlie city librarian (Mr R. N. •O’Reilly) were present at the forty-fifth annual meeting of the Addington Public Llibrary. Officers elected were:—Patron, the Mayor of ChristChurch (Mr G. Manning); president, Mr J. C. Morris; auditor, Miss T. King; trustees, Messrs G. Wilson and R. Johnston; secretary, Mrs B. Watson; committee, Mesdames D. Sandford, J. Johnston, K. Cummings, V. Mann, M. Baillie, H. Wardrop, E. Burgess, M. Duff, E. Burgess, P. McLeod, K. O’Brien, M. Haxell, and B. Watson, Messrs R. Johnston, D. Matheson, J. Hall, A. Young, M. Baillie, E. Mather, G. W. Wilson, C. Stewart, and G. Wilson. Mrs K. Cummings and Mr A. Young were elected life members.
No Wall Passes.— The West Berlin Carty government, on Wesit German and Western Allied orders, has rejected an East Germain proposal to open the wall again for West Berliners at Easter.—West Berlin, February 16.
