100Yds Record Equalled

(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. February 16. Twice inside an hour, at the Caledonian ground on Saturday, the New Zealand resident record for the 100 yards was equalled by on e athlete. The University of Otago sprinter, C. J. Maguire, equalled the time of 9.6 sec on the allweather track at the Otago track and field championships in both a heat and the final. The resident record is held jointly by M. Rae and C. Davy, both of Auckland. The open mark, of fi.Ssec stands in the name of W. J. Earle (Australia). The Otago record for 100 yards was lOsec.
