Back-Door Business

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Feb. 17.

From today, Victoria’s householders are protected against highpressure selling techniques of door-to-door salesmen.

They will have five days in which to cancel any contract or agreement to buy on terms from calling salesmen. Protection is provided by legislation.

A door-to-door salesman will have to give the buyer a printed form setting out the buyer’s commitments. The form is to have a tear-off section which, may be posted to cancel the - sale. The law will not apply to cash sales.
