Cricket Round-up Midland Looks Sure Of Wellington Title

(N.Z. Press Association) The former New Zealand cricketer, P. T.. Barton, found his best form of the season on Saturday. Playing in the top four section of Wellington's c ub competition, Barton hit a lovely 138 for St. Patrick’s Old Bovs against Kilbirnie.

The New Zealand captain, J. F Reid (Karori), waa another century maker—he scored 121 against Midland. This knock did mt prevent Midland from gaining an outright win, and with only two matches to play it looks assured of retaining the title. University’s win over Wellington College Old Boys gave It the bottom four title. Results were:— Midland 246 and 21 for two beat Karori 86 (I. B. Pollard five for 32) and 179 (Reid 121; N. A. Huxford five for 43). Kilbirnie. 290 for three declared and 26 for no wlekets beat 5.P.0.8. 172 (Barton 52: M Williment five for 50) and 334 (Barton 138, G. W. McLelland 80). University 343 (B. Owen 116. G. M. Aim 52; J. S. Perkins five for 107) beat W.C.0.8. 139 end 132 (W. J. Haskell eight for 55). Wellington 91 and 267 for nine declared (G. A. Snowden 86) beat Onslow 55 and 186 (B. D.
