Labour Wants Sugar Subsidy
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 12. “Caucus expressed its concern at the way in which the Government had connived in the rise in the retail price of sugar,” said a statement issued after this morning’s session of the Labour caucus. “It requests a full and impartial investigation, and strongly urges the Government to introduce a stabilisation subsidy and to encourage the sugar beet industry,” said the statement.
