PRIZES TO BE RETURNED
Gift To A. &P. Association Two tankards won by a Canterbury farmer, Mr T. H. Harrison, as prizes for cattle at the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Associat ton’s show in 1867 are being returned to the association ft om Canada. The tankards are now owned by Mr Harrison’s nephew. Mr H. O. Harrison, ct Vernon. British Columbia. On a visit to Christchurch f’ 1954. Mr Harrison promised • e then secretary of the association to leave the tankards to the association in his !1 Now Mr Harrison has cecided that, although the tankards are used every day. would simplify matters if they were sent back before his death. The offer was formally accepted by the committee of t:ie association yesterday. The date of the arrival of tine tankards is not yet known, and the association has not yet decided whether •iiey will be put to any furtiter use. It is probable they will go in the archives.
