Counties Get Permission

AUCKLAND. Feb. 12
The New Zealand Rugby Union has granted P ern L'“‘”'' for Counties to stage Rusby fixtures on April 25. Anzac Da t. This was revealed at a meeting of the Auckland management committee tonight. , . Mr R. L.. Burk, the Auckland chairman, said that the New Zealand Union had agreed to allow matches to be played on Anzac Day. «_ "Two matches were plajed Wellington last year,’ Mr Burk Day falls on Saturday this year. , . . The meeting nominated Messrs R. G. Bush and F. R. Allen as North Island and New Zealand selectors. Mr D. L. Christian is one of the three North Island selectors already appointed. The five New Zealand selectors will be appointed from the three North Island and three South Island selectors, who will be chosen at the next meeting of the New Zealand Union on February 28. Mr Bush has been a national selector since 1961 and Mr Allen the selector-coach of the Auckland Ranfurly Shield team.
