‘Death Was Avoidable’

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb. 12. A fatality would have been avoided if a home-made electric mower had been used in conjunction with an isolating transformer or its equivalent an electrical test engineer, Mr R. B. Taylor, told the Coroner’s Court today. The inquest was concluded into the death of 78-year-old retired engineer. George Ernest Franklin. The Auckland Coroner (Mr K. A Snedden) found he died from electrocution when an electric mower he was using at his home cut its flex making the frame alive with electricity.
