Johnson Meets Pearson
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) WASHINGTON, January 23. President Johnson and Canada’s Prime Minister (Mr Pearson) yesterday concluded “useful” discussions that ranged from East-West tensions to economic problems between their two countries. Mr Johnson and Mr Pearson, in obvious good humour, also took part in the completion of two United StatesCanadian agreements. They were a multi-million dollar pact for harnessing the Columbia river system in the United States north-west and British Columbia, and an agreement to establish an international park at the Campobello Island summer home of the late President Franklin D. Roosevelt. A communique issued at the conclusion of their twoday talks said they had had “useful discussions” on many matters.
