Pukaki On Station Near Icebergs

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 24. The frigate H.M.N.Z.S. Pukaki is now within sight of icebergs in the southern ocean 900 miles to the south of Bluff. The frigate left Dunedin on January 19, and had an unexpectedly comfortable passage into one of the world’s roughest oceans. She arrived at the weather station on Thursday and will remain there for the next week, sending reports on which flights to McMurdo Sound will be based.
