Heavy Programme
The club has a heavy programme to get through. Nine races will be run and one of those, the Selwyn Handicap for maiden pacers, will be run in divisions. Two scratchings have reduced the fields for this event to 37. Several of the form runners in the Selwyn Handicap are also engaged in the Snowden Handicap, another race for maiden pacers which has attracted a field of 19. Today’s double will be run on the Hororata Handicap, a two-mile event with a 2min 17sec class limit, and the O. J. Watson Challenge Stakes,
