Free Globe Fancied In Trot At Hororata

It is generally expected that Free Globe will add another win to her record when she contests the Malvern Handicap, the main race for trotters at the Hororata Trotting Club’s annual meeting today.

Messrs J. Wilson and R. S. Hill’s Johnny Globe mare has already won two races this season. The first was at Westport last month and the most recent was in the Rosewill Handicap at Washdyke last Saturday.

which is restricted to three and four-year-olds. Glenurquhart, Bluff, and Solemn are a fancied trio for the first leg. Peerswick, Turbulence, and Adio Morn could battle it out’ for O. J. Watson Challenge Stakes honours. The forecast is for continued fine weather, so the track will be firm and fast. Fields are:— 11 a.m.—

Brackets: Adio Star and Rannack Song. Colours Flying and Surveyor, Solemn and El Adem. Scratched: Flyn. 135 p.m.— SELWYN HANDICAP, £200; 2:20 class; 13f. —First Division: Admire (4), Black Ancestor (6), Casual Air (8), Colonial Boy (14) Dryden Heather (5), Gold Whip (9), Happy (10), Joanvale (18) Judith Pride (11), Laurel On (7), Lottery Song (17), Moyra Lass (16), Seafield Princess (2), Seafield Scott (13), Staraker (15) Sooty (1), Sunshine Bright (19) It; Josie Pique (1) 36. Scratched: Spring Greetings, Vaggi.

Between those two wins Free Globe has recorded two seconds as well, so her form all-round has been particularly sound. Free Globe is on 24 yards. The best of her co-markers might be Jeanna, whose latest efforts have been nothing to enthuse about but whose best form is fairly good. Her record during the holidays included two seconds to the very capable Asia Minor. A run comparable with either of those would be adequate to give her victory.
