The appointment will be for a period of three years in the first instance, but the Council is prepared to consider applicants wishing to hold the appointment for a shorter period. Applicants should have been trained in Zoology, Veterinary Science. or Medicine, and should preferably have had some experience in the maintenance of experimental tumours in mammals, in the pathology of tumours, and in animal tissue culture techniques. The main research interest in the Department is in nucleic acids and proteins as they relate to viruses and tumour growth. The Department is well equipped for the major biochemical and biophysical techniques involved in such work. Commencing salary will be fixed within the range £1250 £2OOO per annum according to age and experience.
