Rothmans of Pall Mall (Australia Ltd., increased consolidate net profit before tax by £42,987, or 3.8 per cent, to £1,194,153 for the half-year ended December 31. Interim dividend is maintained at 10 per cent and absorbs £379,687. In 1962-63 the company paid a final 10 per cent making 20 per cent for the year. Directors’ Report Directors say in an interim report that notwithstanding increasing competition, profit for the year ended June 30, would be “at least as much” as . last year. In 1962-63 group net profit rose by £215,914 to £1,473,026. Directors report that so far the United States Surgeon General’s report on smoking had not affected sales “doubtless because it added nothing to theories already published.” Record sales were again achieved in the half-year and the company’s grip of its Share of the cigarette market had been "strengthened.”
