ANTARCTIC INSPECTORS

Three Bases Seen

The Uni'.ed States Government’s special four-man inspection party which was sent to the Antarctic to put into effect the mutual inspection clause of the Antarctic Treaty has now inspected three foreign bases. They are now back at McMurdo Station after visiting the Russian bases at Vostok and Mirny, and they have also called at New Zealand’s station, Scott Base. The party made a brief call at the Pole Station, an American base Their plans for further inspections have not yet been announced.
