Regiment Goes Into Camp

About 300 men of the Ist Canterbury Regiment, drawn from Canterbury, Marlborough, Nelson and the West Coast, went into camp at West Melton last evening. The camp will continue for 14 days. Brigadier J. T. Burrows, who is colonel of the regiment, will inspect the regiment on Wednesday. He wiU receive a gift from the regiment to be passed on to the affiliated regiments in Britain, the Queen’s Own Buffs and Royal West Kents. He will present gifts from the sergeants’ and officers’ messes of the affiliated regiments to the sergeants’ and officers’ messes.
