Edge May Not Ride In Cup
“The Press” Special Service CAMBRIDGE, Jan. 14. The Cambridge jockey, G. R. Edge, who rode Senor to win the Auckland Cup, will not know until Thursday if he will be able to ride the Le Filou gelding in the Wellington Cup. Edge slightly wrenched his right knee last Thursday and had fluid drained from it on Friday. He rode work at Cambridge on Saturday and was not troubled by it when riding at Avondale later in the day. The knee subsequently swelled again and was again drained on Monday. Edge is resting it at present. He has postponed his departure to Trentham from Wednesday to Friday in the hope he will be fully recovered.
