MAN’S DEATH IN NELSON

Investigations Ry Police (From Our Own Reporter) NELSON, January 13. Hie Nelson C. 1.8. is investigating the death in the Nelson Public Hospital today of James Wilson Walker, aged 57, married, of 43 Tasman street, Nelson. Mr Walker was admitted to hospital on January 10 suffering from injuries he suffered two days before. He died at 2 p.m. today. A post-mortem examination will be held tomorrow. Mr Walker, who was manager of the Nelson City Council’s gasworks, was well known as an amateur radio enthusiast He operated his own transmitting and receiving set under the call sign 2AJER, which was known throughout New Zealand and overseas. At one time he was a section leader of the Nelson Search and Rescue Organisation and as a radio operator. He was a staunch member of the organisation up to the time of his death.
