GIRL RIDER UNHURT

Horse Shies Into Car A horse being ridden by a 17-year-old girl in Bexley road at 4.10 p.m. yesterday shied at a donkey in a paddock, reared up, and ran into the side of a car. The rider, Miss Andrea Kay Thom daughter of Mr and Mrs C. Thom, of 448 Hereford street, Linwood, escaped uninjured. Her horse, however, suffered a broken leg and was later destroyed by a veterinary surgeon. Miss Thom was riding along the verge of the road when her mount shied and careered into the side of a car driven by Mr R. R. J. Heffler, of 8 Badger street, North New Brighton. Mr Heffler was uninjured, and the car suffered only minor damage to metalwork at the side.
