PILGRIMAGE BY POPE
Chief Rabbi’s Attitude (N.Z.P.A .-Reuter—Copyright > JERUSALEM, Dec. 27 Israeli’s Chief Rabbi, Yitzhak Nissim. has declined a Government Invitation to join the party welcoming Pope Paul, but would welcome the opportunity to confer with him., Nevertheless, he will issue a public proclamation welcoming Pope Paul's visit to Israel. Rabbi Nissim accepts the Pope's view that the visit was purely a pilgrimage and meetings might detract from its purpose.
