Stabbing In Auckland

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Dec. 16. A taxi-driver rushed a 23-year-old man to Auckland Hospital after finding him writhing in pain with a stab wound in the abdomen outside a telephone box in Ponsonby about 9.45 tonight. The man. Daniel Peter Fisher, of 18 Brown street, Ponsonby, was also suffering concussion and bruising. The taxi-driver, Mr N. Barrett, of Mangere. said he saw Mr Fisher staggering toward the taxi. He was writhing about and holding his stomach. He said he had been knifed and was obviously in great pain. Salvation Army Band's Tour (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Dec. 16. The Brisbane City Temple Corps Salvation Army Band will arrive in Auckland on February 8 for an 18-day visit throughout the country. A chartered aircraft will bring the 35 members of the ba>nd to New Zealand. The band will visit the main centres before leawng Christchurch on February 25.
