TEAROOMS AT PLNAKAIKI
New Owners To Take Over
The two-storey wooden tearooms near the famous pancake rocks and blowholes at Punakaiki, 30 miles north of Greymouth, have been sold privately and will be taken over next w’eek by Mr and Mrs G Shaw, of Christchurch. At a public auction at Greymouth on November 6, the building and eight acres of land were passed in when bidding failed to reach the reserve price of £6350.
The purchase price has not been disclosed.
The former owner. Mr G. P. Manderson, started the business 12 years ago.
